Polydactyly (having an extra digit) is actually thought to be a (incomplete) dominant gene. If you get the gene from one parent, you’ll likely end up with a lumpy flesh thing, but if both parents have the gene for polydactyly, you’ll end up with what looks like here to be a functional postaxial digit.

Sure, she’s got the extra finger on her left hand, but think about the typing advantage she has. She’s clearly well ahead of most of her peers when it comes to video and audio editing. I get a little creeped out when looking at her, but she’s got skillz.
