   So…how does FFXIII being on more than one console change anything for this guy? I’m not getting the logical jump there. It’s not like suddenly it’s a 360 exclusive and you’ve been cut out of the loop with your PS3. That would be a betrayal of trust. That would be the love of your life dumping you for some other guy. This is just an oppertunity for others who would otherwise not know the joy of FF you know to share in that joy.

   It’s somehow less special now knowing there will be other people out there hitting the “A” button instead of the “X” button to make menu selections? So, when you shared the experience with 10M other people it was still special, but when it jumps to 20M you feel betrayed?

   I realize I may be silly responding to this in a logical manner when the post is likely even just straight parody of fanboyism, but I’ve never understood people getting joy out of (or feeling trama over) games other people can’t (or now can) play. I can see being bummed if a game you want to play is exclusive to another system, because that actually effects you. But there’s no sense in being bummed when other people can play something.

   Okay, clearly the laugh is on me for even responding here considering how obvious that is…

   Not that this was a legitimate post or anything, but if he feels that lifeless, he should try out the FF game he skipped.

   Also it kinda bugs me that people are acting like the game still isn’t coming out for PS3.

   @dbushik: There’s no betrayal here at all. We’re talking about a giant, multi-national, faceless, soulless corporation here. It’s their product to do with as they please. Square-Enix doesn’t make the PS3. As such, the consumer as NO expectations, NO promises that say, “well golly, since you bought a PS3, we’ll make sure to only release the games you like on it, just for you!” This is either a (very well-done) joke post, or a total moron whom I can only sincerely hope follows through with his promise of suicide, lest his foul seed continue to plague mankind.

   And for the record, both the PS3 and the Final Fantasy series suck anyway. Hell, Square-Enix blows too.

   Go Atlus, woo.

   The whole idea to contemplate killing yourself over a video game franchise is completely idiotic. Clearly as a child this person was sad to some how fuse himself with a game franchise. And clearly suffered from Self-Deception. And a lot of people forget that video games and its developers is a business and therefore they will create and sell their game where they think will create the best profit value so by selling to the 360 in addition to the PS3 the developers are going to gain a shit load of more money then for selling the game on just one console system.

    See Square has jumped ship before and moved on. FF7 which everyone expected to come to N64 sailed on in for the PS and had some improvements on the way. CGI movies were added a more in depth longer story was added. ETC, ETC, Back in the day of the 16-bit age developers released games for whatever system they felt to release it for. Some released it for systems that had the cheaper dev kit etc. Take Square for example, The company was tiny and didn’t have any money. They released a few bombs and the company was going to go under. They sold off dev kits etc the only thing they had was an Nintendo Dev Kit then they made what would suppose to be the last game before the company closed its doors. They called it Final Fantasy meaning it was the final game they would make. But it did so well the company was able to afford to stay open. After such time the company released more games.

    Sony came out with the PS a game system that was made to be used with the SNES. Nintendo decided that CD games was something they didn’t want to do. So the CD system was scraped then Sony decided to release it as a stand alone system. They went and bought some small development houses and added them to SoE.

    Then Sony did what was unheard of in the industry, they started to buy games to be released only on the Sony PS. Sega lost Tomb Raider which was originally for the Sega Saturn, Nintendo Lost future FF games. Sony bully their way into the industry taking what exclusives they wanted. No one had Sony’s money to toss around so the other companies had to take it. As a result some companies dropped out of the console market. SEGA, 3DO, Atari, NEC, Philips, Apple, Bandai, etc..etc Each company had an ok system but most of the titles appeared on Sony’s systems. Forcing the other companies to end production on their systems.

    It is agreeable that the Sony PS/PS2 had a good run and a wonderful software library. Although the tactics they took to get on the top burned alot of bridges, And left some of the fans of the previous gamer generations pissed. What most can not agree with Sony’s tactic to stomp out creativity and free thinking or the tactic to buy rights to exclusives. But in the end you ended up getting more games that you wanted to play. It just seems that Sony has played gamer for a chump too long and it gave a chance for others to move on in.

    And what alot of people can agree with is that it is nice to see Sony get what they did to companies in the past. As the song says “What goes around comes back around..” Sony has made too many mistakes and has too many fanboys & yes-men working for them. This has hurt them more then any lack of software or content has done. In the end most companies look at the PS3 as a failure as a game console. Sony seemed to care more about winning a format war then it cared about the gamer base it built up. Sony just alienated their gamer base and developer base by pushing blu-ray too much. And still Sony cares more about Blu-Ray then they do games or the software companies that make games. All of this piled up to now and them falling behind in this generation of consoles. The PS3 may do a bounce back but the xbox360 & Wii together could push it back down. Sony’s largest amount of losses come from the game divisions now.

    While Sony keeps loosing developers & gamers faith and hope with delays and bold face lies about console features and performance. People are beginning to look at other brands such as Microsoft & Nintendo. Both of which have larger libraries and more open to developers freedom of expression. While MS & Nintendo are innovating ideas on their own and improving on each others ideas, Sony has innovated nothing this generation and continues to copy MS & Nintendo for ideas. It has gone to far and the consumers & develops now see Sony’s farce showing that Sony can not compete this generation. Sony got too cocky because they have never felt defeat in the console market, this is a good slap in the face for them and they should take this loss and move on & do better next time.

    Atleast Sony failed trying, now they should pick up whats left and learn from the mistakes of the past. Because they have failed this time and this failure can be what makes the company better the next time around. But for now they should stop hurting themselves more and drop out of the race or just float on by like the N64, Saturn, 3DO in to that sunset of disappointment and failure.

    Argh, the peoples who care too much about video games have followed to the commenting section! O.o;; Begone ye demons, begone! Anyway, as for this guy I think he’s moronic and I hope I knows that suicide doesn’t come with a reset button. Or at the least that Square doesn’t give a shit about him staying alive.
